Jeffrey Jacobson
Chairman, President & CEO
Jeffrey Jacobson was appointed President & CEO of Presstek in May of 2007 and was elected Chairman of the Board effective January 1, 2009. Prior to joining Presstek, he was the Chief Operating Officer of Eastman Kodak Company's Graphic Communications Group, a division formed by the integration of six different Kodak companies into a $3.6 billion global enterprise. Mr. Jacobson has twenty years of experience in the graphics arts industry, including five years as CEO of Kodak Polychrome Graphics, a successful $1.7 billion joint venture between Sun Chemical and Eastman Kodak. Mr. Jacobson led the growth of Kodak Polychrome Graphics into an industry leading digital and business solutions provider and directed the integration of multiple acquired businesses. Under his leadership, Kodak Polychrome delivered 18 consecutive quarters of profitable growth.
Mr. Jacobson is an active leader in the graphic arts industry. Currently, he is a board member of the Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF). He is the former chairman of the advisory committee of New York University's Center for Graphic Arts Management and Technology, a former member of the board of directors of the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (GATF), and a former member of the National Printing Equipment Association (NPES) Board of Directors. Women In Production (WIP), in March 2003, awarded its prestigious Luminaire Award to Mr. Jacobson. In May 2001, the Association of Graphic Communications honored Mr. Jacobson with the Power of Communication Award. The award recognizes leaders in the graphic arts for their positive influence, creative excellence and outstanding achievements in the world of communications and publishing.
A management graduate of the State University of New York (SUNY) Buffalo, Mr. Jacobson holds a master's degree in industrial relations from the Cornell School of Industrial Relations. He additionally holds a juris doctor degree from Pace University School of Law and is admitted to the bar in New York and New Jersey.
Jeffrey A. Cook
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Jeffrey A. Cook was appointed Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President in February 2007. In this role, he will oversee all of the company’s financial and investor relations functions. He was elected to Presstek’s Board of Directors effective November 4, 2009.
Mr. Cook has 29 years of financial leadership experience working with multinational corporations. Prior to joining Presstek, Mr. Cook served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Information Officer at Kodak Polychrome Graphics and spent 17 years in financial management roles at various General Electric businesses.
Ronald T. Cardone
Vice President, Worldwide Service
Ronald Cardone was appointed Vice President of Worldwide Service in September 2009. He is responsible for providing Presstek’s customers with the industry’s best service and support. Mr. Cardone is responsible for all areas of service, including installation, training, technical support, and application support through Presstek’s global network of direct service technicians and dealer partners. Mr. Cardone joined the Presstek Leadership Team in December 2005 as the Chief Information Officer.
Mr. Cardone has 28 years of experience in Information Technology, Customer Service and Program Management across a broad base of industries ranging from semiconductor manufacturing to consumer products. Prior to joining Presstek, Mr. Cardone served as Senior Vice President of IT for The First Years, Vice President of IT for Dorel Industries (Juvenile Products Division), and Vice President of IT for Safety 1st Inc. He has also held several high level positions at Timberland, Compaq, and Wang Laboratories.
He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts.
Cathleen V. Cavanna
Vice President, Corporate Human Resources
Cathleen V. Cavanna has been Presstek’s Vice President, Corporate Human Resources since January 2005. As such, Ms. Cavanna is responsible for coordinating all human resource activities within the corporation, including strengthening the link between internal operations and external performance, and influencing and fulfilling business strategy through a fully-aligned and integrated approach. Ms. Cavanna joined Presstek in March 1996 as the Manager of Human Resources.
Prior to joining Presstek, Ms. Cavanna held human resources management positions in high-tech companies including Electronic Data Systems, Genicom and The A. B. Dick Company.
Ms. Cavanna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Southern New Hampshire University, and is active in the Compensation and Benefit Survey Group, the Southern New Hampshire Human Resources Society, and is certified in Personnel Law.
Hakan Elmali Ph.D.
Vice President of Engineering and Research
Hakan Elmali, Ph.D. was appointed Vice President of Engineering and Research in March 2007. As such, he is responsible for technology strategy development, core research, and product management and development.
Prior to joining Presstek, Dr. Elmali served as Vice President of Engineering at ADE Corporation in Westwood, MA. Previously, he was Director of Engineering at Brooks Automation. He has over 20 years of research and product development experience and brings to Presstek a proven track record of managing engineering projects from concept to production.
Dr. Elmali has a doctorate and a master’s of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Connecticut. He received his bachelor’s degree – also in mechanical engineering – from Bogazici University in Istanbul, Turkey.
Mark J. Levin
President, Americas Region
Mark J. Levin was appointed President, Americas Region in November 2007. In this role, he is responsible for establishing and managing the overall sales, service and customer relationship strategy for the company’s Americas region.
Levin brings nearly 30 years of experience in the printing industry to the company and joins Presstek from Sun Chemical where he served as president of the North American commercial group. Levin also served as president of Sun Chemical’s publication inks business. Before joining Sun Chemical, Levin spent 24 years with Heidelberger Druckmaschinen, where he served as senior vice president of web presses and vice president of sales for North America.
Levin received his B.S. in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Rhode Island and earned an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University.
Geoff Loftus
Vice President, Manufacturing Operations and Corporate Quality Officer
Geoff Loftus was appointed Vice President of Manufacturing Operations in September 2009. Mr. Loftus is responsible for the manufacturing of all product lines within Presstek. As Corporate Quality Officer, he is also responsible for developing policies and programs to ensure that all products perform to specification. Mr. Loftus became Presstek’s Vice President of Service in November 2006, previously he was General Manager of the DI press business.
Mr. Loftus has nearly 20 years of experience in the graphic arts industry. Prior to joining Presstek, he held key management, service, and engineering positions at Heidelberg in both in the United States and Germany.
Mr. Loftus holds an MBA from New Hampshire College, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Vermont, and a Certificate in Logistics Management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has two patents to his credit as an inventor.
Kathleen McHugh
Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
Kathleen McHugh joined Presstek in May, 2008 as Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. Ms. McHugh, with over 20 years of industry experience, is focused on expanding Presstek’s global presence in the growing digital color printing market. Ms. McHugh joined Eastman Kodak in 1984, and most recently served as Vice President and Regional Business Manager of Eastman Kodak’s U.S. and Canadian Prepress Solutions. Previously, Ms. McHugh served as Eastman Kodak’s Vice President, Global Marketing, Prepress Solutions. From 1998 to 2005, Ms. McHugh held high level strategic and marketing roles in Kodak Polychrome Graphics, a joint venture between the Eastman Kodak and Sun Chemical companies.
Ms. McHugh holds a Masters in Business Administration from University of California, Irvine.
Guy Sasson
President, Europe, Africa, and Middle East Region
Guy Sasson was appointed President of Presstek’s Europe, Africa, and Middle East (“EAME”) Region in January 2009. Mr. Sasson’s background includes a decade of key international roles at Kodak’s Graphics Communications Group (“KGCG”) and Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG), a joint venture between the Eastman Kodak and Sun Chemical companies. In his most recent assignment Mr. Sasson served as Vice President of Service and Support of KGCG’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Prior assignments included Director of Operations of KGCG’s Europe, Middle East and Africa region, as well as five years as General Manager of KPG/KGCG France. Prior to joining KPG, Mr. Sasson was employed in management capacities with Pechiney, The Boston Consulting Group and Royal Dutch Shell, plcc.
Mr. Sasson completed his undergraduate work at Lycee Louis Le Grand, Paris, and received Master of Science degrees from the Ecole des Mines de Paris and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Sasson also earned an MBA from INSEAD University.
Peter J. Spinney
Vice President, Worldwide Supply Chain and Chief Information Officer
Peter Spinney was appointed Chief Information Officer in September 2009. In this role, he directs the development and implementation of internal and enterprise-wide systems and applications. Mr. Spinney has been managing Presstek’s worldwide supply chain since joining the company in April of 2008. In this role he is responsible for procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials.
Prior to joining Presstek, Mr. Spinney served as Vice President of Global Logistics, Service Operations, and ecommerce for Polaroid Corporation.
Mr. Spinney received his B.A. from the University of Lowell and earned an MBA from Northeastern University.
James R. Van Horn
Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
James R. Van Horn was appointed Vice President and General Counsel in October 2007. In this role, he is responsible for all legal matters and advises the executive team on legal issues and ongoing business development opportunities.
Van Horn brings a 16-year background as general counsel with public companies to Presstek and joins the company from Sun-Times Media Group, Inc., where he was vice president, general counsel and secretary. He has also served as chief administrative officer, general counsel and secretary for NUI Corporation and senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Citizens First Bancorp, Inc.
Van Horn received his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University and his B.A. from the College of Wooster.
