POSITION: Director, Cost Accounting

LOCATION: Hudson, NH

POSITION
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Requires a self directed, hands on professional with broad manufacturing and distribution exposure.
  • Monthly closing, maintenance of standard costs, variance analysis, physical inventory/cycle count programs, inventory valuation and obsolescence review.
  • Supervisory responsibility for two senior cost analysts.
  • Position reports to VP-Corporate Controller, provides direction, goals, and objectives.
  • Monthly and quarterly financial closing for costing and inventory.
  • Maintenance of standard costs for manufactured and purchased products.
  • Variance analysis of manufacturing activities and reporting to operations and senior management.
  • Financial management of physical inventory and cycle count programs for all lines of business.
  • Inventory valuation, including cost capitalization and excess and obsolete inventory review and recommendations.
  • Development of inventory reporting and metrics for senior management and operating units.
  • Assistance in forecast reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Assisting in quarter-end revenue review/audit activities with independent auditors.
  • Participating in financial accounting special projects.

EDUCATION/
EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years Accounting/Finance related experience in a fast-paced distribution, manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in Excel – power user (pivot tables), Access and reporter writing software (Crystal Reports) required.
  • Experience with computerized integrated manufacturing/account systems (ERP/MRP2).
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Highly customer-focused.
  • Very organized with strong attention to detail. Self-starter and self-motivated. Excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment across a wide range of organizational levels.
