Presstek’s Culture: People, Customers, Workplace
and Community

Wikipedia defines Corporate Culture as the attitudes, experiences, beliefs and values of an organization. It has also been defined as "the specific collection of values and norms that are shared by people and groups in an organization and that control the way they interact with each other and with stakeholders outside the organization.”

People

Where do these attitudes, experiences, beliefs and values come from? They come from our people. Presstek’s unique culture began with the founders of our company – true pioneers in digital imaging technology – whose vision, innovation, spirit of collaboration and teamwork developed a technology that changed the market. As we grew, our people brought new experiences, beliefs and values to our company. Today, vision, collaboration and teamwork are still important to us, but equally important are a strong commitment to our customers, shareholders and co-workers; efficiency; responsibility and accountability. All of these values, built on a foundation of integrity, equality, honesty and respect for others, and fueled by a creative spark, a passion for succeeding, intelligence and a strong sense of community, define the people of Presstek. They are the company’s greatest asset.

Customers

Presstek’s vision is to be a leading global provider to the graphic communications market by delivering high-quality, fully-integrated digital solutions and services while forming all-encompassing relationships with our customers.

By consistently striving to serve our customers to the best of our ability, we ultimately bring value to all of our stakeholders – our employees, business partners, investors, and our community.

Presstek demonstrates its commitment to its customers through:

  • Aligning its product development with customers’ needs;
  • Providing a consistent supply of quality products;
  • Technological superiority; and
  • Providing value-added customer services and strong return-on-investment.

Workplace

We are committed to providing a workplace in which our people can fulfill their passion to succeed, perform at their highest level and thrive

Presstek believes that one of the keys to a successful and satisfied employee is in having a job that fits their capabilities, potential and strengths. We strive to hire and retain people who have the passion and drive to succeed and perform at their highest level; to provide a workplace where employees’ jobs match their interests, talents and skills; and a workplace that encourages them to leverage their skills, express their talent and help their organization live up to its full potential.

Our systems and policies encourage ethics and integrity; open communication; assure employee health and safety; and encourage a healthy work/life balance.

Community

One of the most rewarding aspects of working at Presstek is its community. Internally, Presstek’s employee-run Recreation Committee’s mission is to encourage employee interaction and teamwork, increase employee morale and instill feelings of cooperation and well-being within the company. From annual holiday celebrations to summer outings, the Recreation Committee’s goal is to provide fun events year ‘round for all of Presstek’s employees.

Presstek also views social responsibility as an integral part of its business. The company’s Community Service Initiative is dedicated to helping improve the quality of life in the communities where our employees live and work through volunteerism, donations and leadership. The Community Service Committee supports national U.S. organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters and the American Red Cross, as well as local non-profit organizations such as soup kitchens, children’s homes, and other organizations chosen by the employees in the various communities in which Presstek is located. To further the company’s commitment, Presstek provides a Community Service Leave, or eight hours of paid time off for employees to serve the community. In 2008, some employees used their time to work at local children’s shelters, clear trails for the Appalachian Mountain Club, or volunteer at a local animal shelter, and a host of other activities. The people of Presstek are a generous bunch…whether it’s raising funds for the Employee Crisis Fund, giving blood or volunteering their time…there’s never a lack of people willing to help out. We’re proud of our people and their commitment to social responsibility.
